Frequently asked questions
How do I create the annual precipitation chart of my site?
Click a point on the map, choose the start and end years, then press "Generate". One blue bar per year appears in under a minute with the mean line, and you can customize colours and formatting.
What does each bar represent?
Each bar is the precipitation total (mm) of a whole year, i.e. the sum of the daily values. The mean line is the annual mean of the complete years; you can also display the trend line.
What happens if the period includes the current year?
The current year appears as a light bar with a dashed outline because it is incomplete (up to the last available day); it is excluded from the mean, the standard deviation and the trend.
Is the platform free?
Generation, preview and customization are free. The watermark-free PNG and the Word report require an approved order (5 image downloads per order; the report is free for the holder of an approved order).
What is the data source?
ERA5-Land reanalysis (Copernicus / ECMWF), daily precipitation totals, available since 1950 via Open-Meteo.
